9 WAYS TO PREP FOR YOUR BOUDOIR Session
Hello
gf
It’s hard to think of it all so I did it for you! I hope you find this Prep Guide helpful as your session nears. It’s okay if you don’t get it all perfect or forget something. Your session will be great no matter what!
tip 1
Shop in advance
So many of us procrastinate, but shopping for lingerie isn't something you should sleep on. If you wait too close to your shoot, you won't have time to shop online.
You want to be able to shop online in case you don't find anything in stores. Plus if you do find something, for example, at Victoria's Secret and it's not available in your size, they can order it for you, but this also takes time.
Bring at least 2-3 of your own outfits to your shoot. Shopping for lingerie is fun! Don't put it off.
tip 2
Get your nails done
Girlie, don't show up with chipped polish, please. If acrylics are your thing, do it. Tips such as stiletto make your fingers appear longer.
If no polish is your thing, that works too.
If you do polish, choose a neutral. You don't want hot pink or neon green nails because they will stick out / glow in the shadows. Please have your nails ready before your session so they are 100% dry. Add it to your calendar now so you don’t forget.
tip 3
Get your hair done
I cannot photoshop roots. I'm not saying a little lived-in roots isn’t cute, but I can't photoshop out heavy grays and I can't remove dark roots from platinum blonde hair. I can remove a gray or a stray, but let's just make sure your hair does not need photoshopped.
tip 4
A pro spray tan is better than
self-tanner
Self-tanner is extremely difficult to create an even tone. I recommend a professional spray tan or just bring your natural self. Tan lines and pale skin are better than orange streaky skin.

tip 5
Visualize your makeup
Darker makeup really pushes your images to a more sultry & sexy side. It also makes your eyes pop.
A more natural look might make you feel more like yourself. Definitely something to think about!
Feel free to browse Pinterest for some ideas, but most important, trust our Makeup Artist - Makeup By Mel. She knows exactly how to bring out your best features.
tip 6
Stretch
The more arch you can get in your back, the bigger the booty. A lot of my clients feel like their boudoir session is more like a yoga session and a lot of my clients report being a bit sore after their session. So stretch and maybe practice yoga prior to your session.
Practice arching your back every night and maybe even practice some of the posing you see in my photos. I'll still give you direction the entire session, don't worry!
tip 7
Show up in loose clothing
You do not need to show up to your session dressed to impress, especially when you'll be leaving looking hot af.
Showing up in anything, but loose clothing, will 100% leave impressions on your skin. Don't wear an elastic waistband, bra, tight jeans, leggings, socks, or lace underwear. Doing this will save me time in Photoshop and it will create less distraction for you when you see your final images!
Plus, being comfy is the best thing ever. We have robes available for use or feel free to bring your own.
You're welcome to bring cutie clothes to change into when you leave if you’ve got places to be.
tip 8
arrive with clean + PRepped hair
For your session, please show up with clean enough hair to where your roots are not oily, so same-day wash or day 1-2. Some think clean hair doesn't hold style, but it's more important that we are able to move your hair freely during your session than worrying if the curl will last. I love being able to flip my client's hair around, if possible. Much easier to do with clean roots!
Our included hair styling service is considered a “light styling” service, meaning we will curl or flat iron what you come in with. Be sure to prep your hair accordingly and blow it out prior to coming in, if needed. You may also opt to show up with your hair already styled.
For curly haired babes, if you prefer your natural hair, then please be sure to style as normal prior to coming in. We can go over your curls with heat if you prefer. Bring any specific hair product(s) you can't live without as we only carry hairspray and Ouai Finishing Créme. We do not have a hair bowl or blowdryer.
tip 9
Don't sweat the small stuff
If you have a break out, bruise, scratch, or anything like that, don't worry about it! Totally removable in Photoshop.
We'll go over Photoshop requests in-person and you’ll be able to leave requests on each photo in your online gallery.
A woman should be two things: who and what she wants.
